Municipal Stadium - Poznan (Poland)

The Municipal Stadium in Posznan - or Stadion Miejski as it is called in Polish - is close to the town centre and was built in 1968. It was actually completed only twelve years later and opened in August 1980 with a match played by the home team Lech Posen.

 

In 2006, the Posen Arena was the venue for the opening match and also the final of the U-19 European Championship. It will also host the matches in the group phase.

 

The Arena has been completely refurbished especially for the EURO 2012 and reopened in September 2010.
