The harbour city of Recife is known as football crazy. Small wonder, then, that it was selected as one of the 2014 playing venues and received a new stadium on top of it.
The Arena Pernambuco has a façade and transparent roof made of plastic which creates changing effects of light inside the stadium. It is hoped that the stadium's ideal location, only 19 km from an international airport, will benefit the whole region economically.
